My family: is composed of my two sisters, April (26) and Amber (22), my mother and myself. When we lost our dad, we understood how important it is to stick together . Everyone is dealt a different hand in life, but it’s the way you play it that matters. One day I will buy a big house and Italy and we’ll live happily ever after.
My work: is my passion. For too long it seemed I lived to work. But now, I work to live. One day I woke up and realized that I’d rather do what I love and be happy.
My passion: is cooking (mealsnheels.com). From the moment I wake up, to the moment I fall asleep, all I think about is new recipes to try tomorrow.
My favorite possession: My ferrets. They are the best pets in the world. Bandit (4) and Mocha (2 ½) are always there to greet me the moment I walk in the door. They are the sweetest and funniest blessings I could ask for.
My hometown: is Fort lauderdale
I’m thinking about: Franchising my personal chef/catering business overseas, preferably to London.
I can’t live without: My chef’s knife and cutting board. I can pretty much improvise with anything else in the kitchen. I once made a four course meal with only one soup pot and a skillet.
What keeps me awake at night: The happiness of my family. If they are troubled, I am troubled.
One thing I never want to do again: Work in a cubicle. After 4 years in the mortgage industry, I spent the majority of my early twenties behind a desk. I am the type of person that needs fresh air and conversation at all times. If I had to do it again, I would settle for nothing less than the corner office with a view.
Right now I’m reading: Anything by Mary Higgins Clark. I love nail-biting thrillers. A book that keeps me on the edge of my seat is the most exciting.
Favorite web site: Foodnetwork.com of course.
Last major purchase: My car. With this dwindling economy and rising gas prices, an SUV is probably not the best idea. But I think of it as a very worth-while investment, considering that it holds all of my coolers and enough space to transport my food.
My theme song: “Time Tough,” by Toots and the Maytals. Anyone who has ever known me would agree that I live for reggae music. This song represents everyone right now. It basically states that we aren’t alone in this world. When times get tough in the economy, all we can do is pray and keep thinking positively, and we will be rewarded.
If I had a vanity plate on my car, it would say: Besides Meals on Heels? “I brake for garlic.”
My favorite body part: My hands. My mom always said, they are your best utensil in the kitchen.
The food I could eat every day: Thai food from Lemongrass. Best Thai in the city!
If I were a superheroine I would be: Telepathia, the superhero that reads minds.
The most important thing I ever lost: My dad. We lost him 13 years ago to lung cancer due to cigarettes. I hate cigarettes and everything they represent. I still refuse to even date someone who smokes.
The best thing I ever won: “Miss Legs 2001” in my high school.
I’d like to learn to: Swing Dance. I took a couple classes in college and started to really enjoy it. It is great cardio and I’d love to learn to do the big jumps and throws. I don’t think I’ve ever met a swing dancer that didn’t enjoy life to the fullest.
The smartest woman I know: My mother. She has gone through so many experiences in her life, some good, some bad. But what makes her the smartest is she always weighs the pros and cons in every situation to determine the best possible outcome.
My first job: was ice cream scooper at TCBY. I made a killer banana split!
Whose diary would you most like to read? George W. Bush. Need I say more?
What do you fear the most? The mortality of my loved ones.
Best one-liner you ever heard: “No man is worth your tears, but the one who is will never make you cry.”
Never...say never.
I wish…to become the Next Food Network Star.
