Finding Your Passion, And Living It

I’m always inspired by women who hold on tight to their dreams. Those who ignore the naysayers, strongly believe and forge ahead toward their goal. There’s something refreshing and energizing to be around those type of individuals – both women and men. 

For those who find them to be too “this” or too “that,” there’s usually a bit of envy involved on the part of those individuals. Perhaps the negative folks have become so wrapped up in the struggles of life, their corporate jobs, the keeping up with The Jones’, etc. and have chosen to just let go of their true dreams and passions. Or maybe they’ve never known what to do with themselves, and have given up trying to find their purpose. It happens. Life doesn’t always go as planned. Even so, it’s never too late and I encourage you to find those passionate individuals, soak up some of their positive energy, and then turn on your own passion magnet.

One of the best local clothing designers (and probably one of the best kept secrets...I hesitate to even tell you about her as you, too, will want that one-of-a-kind garment) has that inspiring energy that makes you believe in the beauty of finding your passion and doing what you love. Essence Flowers (yes, that’s her real name) loves to design and create exclusive clothing. Anything from suits to dresses to swimsuits – this designer is a shopping maven’s dream come true!

OK, got excited and caught up in the opportunity to shop hype – this blog is about passion – and clearly shopping is one of mine! : ) OK, OK, enough already...

What makes Essence so cool is that she believes in what she’s doing and attempts to daily live her passion for designing. She’s not discouraged by the challenges of breaking into the fashion industry and she’s committed to doing what she loves...incessantly. This Wednesday, June 25th, this talented, young woman will showcase her designer swimwear at the Basic Black Collection.

In the meantime, I’m curious to know what fuels you. For me, one of my passions would have to be writing. In a notebook, journal, napkin, wherever, whenever. I like it a lot : )
