More and more, I’m loving the part of my job that allows me to meet really groovy people doing unique things in the community. And I can’t believe that I get paid to tell their story and introduce them to all of you. (Not complaining, I can use the salary to keep a roof over my head.)
Each month starts off like a treasure hunt. First, I mine the community, media, internet and my personal and professional contacts for the perfect people to profile according to that month’s theme. Then, once I research and find them, I get to ask them everything I could ever want to know about their field of expertise. And like a cherry on top of the sundae, I finally get the opportunity to meet them in person with the photographer. This is my favorite part of all – when phone conversations and background info materialize and the person goes from a profile subject to this wonderful human being that I get the pleasure of introducing to everyone.
I’m excited about some of the people you’ll get to meet in the next few issues...an upbeat organic farmer, a cool comedian with his own sense of style and a groovy and I do mean GROOVY art gallery owner and photographer who understands the real meaning of community in the phrase “art community.” And so many more interesting folks who I know you’re going to enjoy getting to know.
Get ready. skirt! Tampa Bay is truly going to get interesting. Just wait until you see our “stars” of next month!
