Hmm…about me, well, I am always and never the same, which makes for my own interesting world where I constantly recruit individuals to join my planet. Take myself very seriously, but prefer not to, so I dress in outfits that often do not match and say things that I shouldn’t under the guise of ...

Drive around and save some money?

Friday, June, 6, 2008

I saw a banner ad online paid for by John McCain that had an image of a man dressed like a burglar with the words, “Are you getting robbed at the pump?”

First, nice try in trying to capture my contact info and make me a fan – not gonna work, John. Second, what a stupid question – yes, I’m getting robbed…screwed…bamboozled at the pump!

I am on a quest to create my own economy, but today, sisters, the glass is half empty and my shoe fund – the one I’ll need because I’ll have to buy some kicks to walk around in – is dwindling. I paid $4.19/gallon today. I do believe everyone at the pump was holding back tears. For real, I’m serious.

Phew! OK...I’m numb to it now. Thanks for letting me whine. I’ve heard the news, it’s going to get worse before it gets better and we all have to deal with it. Kiss $3/gallon goodbye and stop adding up what you could be saving if gas was cheaper. Sigh.

For those of you who don’t feel the pain, you must have a smart car or a chauffeur. Show offs. (Translation: Lucky! Can I get a ride?)

In the meantime, for the rest of us, we can try and save some money at the pump by shopping online first at sites that are monitoring the gas stations. (And it’s not enough that you need a calculator to track how much money you make and how much you spend, now you need a gas calculator – which by the way may assist with budgeting, so not a bad idea.) Considering the current price at the pump, seems a little strange that one would drive around to save some money – but it might be worth the trip!

I think I pass out for a minute everytime I slide my credit card through the reader that enables it to remove half a grand from my bank account a month. That is so disgusting that there isn't even a word in my brain at the moment to tell you how I feel. We are changing summer plans, vacations, all because it's too damn expensive to go.....do you think Bush knows how much a gallon of gas costs? I mean firsthand, like he filled up the limo or Air Force One on his own, from his HIS bank account...Nope. I didn't either.
