Hmm…about me, well, I am always and never the same, which makes for my own interesting world where I constantly recruit individuals to join my planet. Take myself very seriously, but prefer not to, so I dress in outfits that often do not match and say things that I shouldn’t under the guise of ...

All about the Sex tonight
Nancy Vaughn

OK, so
far I’ve read four reviews of the Sex and The City premiere and they are not
showing much love for the “ultimate-ladies-night-out-movie-event-of-the-year”
(phew!) Three reviews were written by men who weren’t so impressed with the
film but all gave props to Samantha (go figure); and one woman who didn’t like all the
designer labels being name-dropped.
I
refuse to be swayed by the critics, and shall wait to form my own
stylishly-calculated opinion once I see the movie this evening. I’m definitely attending
this movie because I am a SATC fan, but I’m also attending because this is
going to be a great time to hang out with my girlfriends, have a fun night out
and meet new friends who share in the SATC fun!
You
know the way sports fans can talk to one another about the game – any game, any
time? Like when you’re in the grocery store waiting in line and one jersey-clad
fan says to another sports stranger, “Did you see the game?” – and they proceed
to conversing and may even subject one another to playful banter if they are fans
of opposite teams? Well, this is my equivalent game-time event.

And
how can it not be? On Fandango, SATC fans shared their plans for the
weekend via online survey and:
- 67% of respondents plan
to attend the movie this weekend with a groupof female friends.
- 80% plan to attend a
"Sex and the City" get-together before or after the movie.
- 68% plan to drink Cosmopolitans at their
get-togethers.
- 51% plan to dress up for the occasion.
- 94% of the respondents are female.
- 45% of the respondents are 25-34.
Only the most secure men are going to be
out for the premiere (or those men who are dragged to it by their wives or significant others). In
Toronto, the “Damn right your dad drank it” Canadian Club Whiskey brand will be holding a protest. They’ve even
organized a schedule. Tsk tsk…silly boys.
What are you doing to kick-off the SATC
premiere? Please share – I want to hear all about it!
For those of you in the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas who
aren’t sure where to attend pre- or post-party events, here are a few options:
And what about those of you who just want
to avoid the weekend premiere traffic? When do you plan to attend? If this weekend is going to be too much for
you and you want to avoid the mad rush – there’s a Sex and The City Networking
event in Orlando next week.
For those of you who aren’t fans – why not?
Was it too girly? Too fantasy? Too many women looking for a man to come save them? I want to hear your thoughts/feelings as well.
For yours truly, my only expectation is to
have fun! Even though the big day is upon us, I had a good time with the Sex and The
City Mad Libs – just to get
things started!
Cheers!
