By Chris.Kuhn, Monday, June 29, 2009Readers are always asking us ‘whatever happened to…?’ and ‘what is so-and-so doing now?’ Starting this month, we attempt to answer some of those questions by following up with some of our favorite folks featured in skirt! with a new monthly feature called Skirt! Flashback. This month, we check in with St. Pete marketer Kate Amirault, our November 2008 24-7 woman. Need a refresher? CKuhn (CK): What kinds of reactions and feedback did you get from your appearance in skirt!?
KAmirault (KA): I received very positive feedback! Everyone who saw the feature was supportive, and many other women were inspired and felt empowered to see a fellow female entrepreneur in a local publication. I was glad to bring something valuable to Skirt! readers. Additionally, the opportunity introduced me to other great contacts with whom I still have business relationships. Being featured in Skirt! was a fantastic experience.
CK: What’s new with you since we last featured you?
KA: So much! 2009 has brought so many milestones. My company, A La Carte Marketing, celebrated its year anniversary in March. Through a year of uncertainty and challenges with this struggling economy, we had to find creative ways to bring our clients value. We continue to grow our network and build a community of happy clients.
I also am in the process of launching a very special organization for women, called Passion Pushers. I have always been a ‘passionate’ person and have been blessed with many opportunities to discover ways to make my life more fulfilling. This new organization can help other women do the same thing! Passion Pushers connects like-minded women and strives to help womenimprove their overall wellbeing by encouraging them to discover their passions. We help to introduce women to activities like yoga, photography, music, and cooking. Passion Pushers also provides a number of other resources through local events, an online community, weekly member updates, and a discount program! I am very ‘passionate’ about this organization and its purpose.
CK: Tell us one new thing you’ve learned about yourself since we last met you.
KA: Just one!!?? I have learned so much, but most recently, it has become clear that if I put the right energy and ideas out into the world, and surround myself with the right people, enthusiasm, passion and opportunity will follow me every step of the way. I am so thankful for the support and encouragement I have received for this new organization and for all of my life pursuits. I could not have done it without my network of friends, business colleagues, and loved ones. Thank you to all of you.
CK: What do you hope to do next?
KA: Help make a difference in the lives of women, and, as a marketer, I can now offer an even better way for local business owners to reach women in the area.
