I found another handful this morning. Gray hairs. I’m far too young to have them, right? Okay, don’t answer that. I’m bidding them farewell later today.
I’m surprised how attached I’ve grown to them. Each one serves as a reminder of the stresses I’ve overcome during my travels.
What can I say? I internalize stress. Noticed my first gray hair at age 24. I don’t think it was any coincidence that I had just gone through my first (and last) divorce the year before. During my years in the IT world with a few young upstart companies, I frequently noticed the debut of a new shiny strand during periods of layoffs, reduced benefits or struggling sales. I once worked at a place for three months that left me driving home in tears of frustration every evening. Several new gray hairs joined the pack that year. Now, while just trying to survive in this troubling economy, there’s no sign of the Gray Hair Brigade closing up shop anytime soon (perhaps the only business to fully beat the recession).
But as of this afternoon, we will part ways. Not forever but for a time. Au revoir, my little gray friends.

Ha! I'm not planning a new pic anytime soon, so you might want to get some rest. Besides I just woke up and am already seeing the good woman's work undone due to the woes of bedhair. :)
