By Chris.Kuhn, Wednesday, February 18, 2009The latest helping of skirt! news for you…dig in!
- Returned Tuesday afternoon from terrific EWomen Network Glow Project Networking Event where I ran into both old and new friends. Saw Susan Jacobs of Wheels of Success from our Sept skirt! issue and she’s excited about their upcoming Festival of the Skye event at Tampa Bay Downs Mar. 13 and in April, their annual fundraiser, The R.A.C.E. Luncheon, which I had the pleasure of attending last year.
- I also caught up with Bebe Ziegler of Ice It by Bebe Z who we featured in our Jan. issue and she’s got some exciting news…apparently we’re going to start seeing her beautiful designs on our Florida alma maters very soon! More details when I know more…
- Author Staci Backauskas, one of our skirt! Tampa Bay community bloggers, has a new e-newsletter and series of tele-seminars she’s offering. Go to her Web site for details!
- Speaking of bloggers, have you checked out our first ever male blogger in the skirt! Tampa Bay blogger community? Dave Rothacker will be sharing his observations and snapshot moments of his take on inner beauty. Welcome to the neighborhood, DaveR!
- We want to extend our sincerest condolences to our friends at sister publication The Tampa Tribune after the loss of colleague and long-time copy editor Janice Hall. Tribune food writer and blogger Jeff Houck offered a touching farewell to his friend.
- Skirt! Tampa Bay has just signed on as a sponsor for Survivor…Celebrate Tampa Bay, a Mar. 21 event to celebrate the spirit of survival and to benefit the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. Look to our March issue for more info!
- Have you reserved space in our special advertising section 9 to 5 to run inside the April issue? It celebrates women-owned businesses and women in business. Deadline is Feb. 27, so reserve your spot soon! Call 813.259.8315 for info. And this new section will be capped off by a soon-to-be-announced 9 to 5 happy hour/networking event in April. Details coming soon!
- Happy birthday, Lindsay Rimes! Our Pinellas sales exec is hard at work even on her birthday, but if you see her today, be sure to sing her a happy little birthday tune!
- Finally, I just want to personally thank all of you who’ve extended words of support during this past week of unpredictability. Dad’s out of the hospital and on the road to recovery so I appreciate all of the good thoughts and positive vibes you’ve steered my way.
Until next time…CK
