Young Dramatists' Project 08 Witness the future Mamets at Young Dramatists’ Project ’08 at the Gorilla Theatre in Tampa May 29-June 8. See full-scale professional productions of this annual playwriting competition for Bay area teens. The top five plays are presented during the theatre’s final week of the season.$20 Thursdays, $25 Friday-Sunday. 7pm. gorillatheatre.com. Purses & Passion Bruncheon Be a part of the 2nd Annual Purses & Passion Bruncheon at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club in St. Petersburg. The event will include a Purses & Passions Photo Exhibit and silent auction. Proceeds benefit the YWCA of Tampa Bay. Photo Exhibit of 100 women and purses will remain on display at The Studio@620 from June 7-13. The bruncheon is free but guests are encouraged to leave donations. Reception starts at 12:15; program runs 1-2:30pm. ywca.org.
